Mid Colulmbia Woodturner's Club
Meeting Minutes for Saturday, September 8, 2007
The meeting was held at John Tucker's shop in Kennewick, WA.
Once again, special thanks go to Leona (John's wife) for an
outstanding selection of snacks and beverages.
President Dave Pellicer called the meeting to order at
1:10pm.
Treasurer's report: Checking: $1,312 and Petty Cash: $101
Old Business: Subject of club purchase of Videos or DVDs for
club library:
Members were asked to submit list of those that were desired
to Jerry Johnson or Dave Pellicer.
Older magazines in the club library to be culled and made
available (excessed) to membership for next month's meeting. Any not taken at next month's meeting to be
discarded.
No status update available on Jack de Vos: John Barany has been in contact. Jack feels not enough time in his schedule
next year to make the trek to Kennewick.
John Barany is still negotiating with him to see if he can manage the
trip to Kennewick.
New Business: Nominations
for club officers are due at the October meeting since the elections are in
November.
Elected positions are:
President
Vice President
Treasurer
Secretary
Members present were encouraged to volunteer for one of the
positions or at least, solicit non-present members to volunteer.
Only requirement is that club officers must be members of
AAW.
The concept was offered that a club officer position could
be a "split" position e.g., two members could share ("job
share") the responsibilities of one of the officer's positions if that
were more feasible.
Show and Tell items brought by various club members:
This month's program was an auction. Photo's 6 and 7 show some of the items sold.
The auction was successful as a total over $200 changed
hands.
Meeting adjourned ~2:30pm.
