MEETING MINUTES
JANUARY 19, 2008
The meeting was conducted at Don Gangl's shop.
The February program will again be at Don Gangl's shop and will be Don's demo and explanation of the Rose Engine he built and its use.
For this meeting, the normal business meeting was dispensed with since it was an all day presentation/demonstration by David Nittmann with an all-day hands-on workshop to follow on Sunday at John Tucker's shop.
Show and tell included a new product line for Robert Cutler:
John Tucker, President and Ron Gerton provided the introductions for David Nittmann. Mr. Nittmann began with some of his background information and then proceeded with a slide presentation of some of his work. He most graciously shared his techniques freely, answering questions as they surfaced. Photos below are of his presentation.
   
 
This was an excellent demonstration and Mr. Nittmann began at the beginning i.e., initial shaping of the bowl, design for the layout, the actual layout, burning in the lines for the basket weave pattern and coloring.
