Meeting Called to order by President Denise Brooks
Treasury Report:
Jerry Johnson reported the club has $2088 in the bank and $20.00 in petty cash.
New Business:
Signup sheets were passed around for the Stuart Batty and J. F. Escoulen Demos and classes.
Discussions:
J. F. Escoulen's needs for the demo and classes.
Jerry Johnson volunteered to make the string steady required.
There was also a request for specific dimensions wood. Anyone interested in supplying all or part can give it to Jeff Phillips who will be hosting the demo.
President Brooks encouraged all members to get familiar with the new club website and to visit it frequently.
We discussed the upcoming symposium in Kentucky
There were no reports from the Librarian or the Secretary
Show and Tell:
Jeff Phillips made a lovely cane from cocobolo with Osage orange and a shellac finish
Tom Stoll made trees The small one was from maple and the large one was from mesquite eye burl.
Jerry Johnson brought a cocobolo vase turned with all hand made tools, no finish but buffed with 2000 grit.
A beautiful pen was passed around made from Azillea from Cambodia Laos.
Tool Tip:
Dip tool handles in acetone for a second or two to refurbish.
Group Project:
Longworth chuck (November) we need to make a materials list for Eric.
Demonstration by Jerry Johnson - Enhancing your turnings. Jerry gave an excellent demonstration complete with typed guide. This guide should be posted on our website.
