Meeting Minutes
July 4, 2006
Jeff and Linda Phillip's Shop,
West Richland, WA
Meeting Called to order by President Denise Brooks at 09:10.
Treasury Report: Jerry Johnson reported the club has $2208.00 in the bank and $84.68 in petty cash.
Old Business: Denise Brooks checks with the members present to get an update on the desire of the club to get a 55 gallon drum of sealer. There seems to be sufficient interest and now logistics are to be worked out outside of the meeting.
Future meeting are currently scheduled as follows:
July 22, 2006 Stuart Batty Demonstration at Gangl's shop and the location of the two classes will determined prior to the demonstration
August 12, 2006 - Club picnic to be held with John Nichols down in Oregon along the river with John demonstrating. Members are encouraged to come and bring family and friends. The club will supply the meat and a sign up sheet is passed to allow people for head count and dishes that will be brought.
September- Demonstration to make duck calls or the club will work on this year's annual club project of making faceplate. TBD
October - Guest demonstrator, Jim Christiansen
November- Recognizing and showing the best aspects of wood, slide show prepared by Jerry Johnson.
December - Club Christmas Party
New Business: A member's spouse passed and the club has sent a card. Discussion followed regarding planting a tree in memory of the person and to honor the member. Ron Gerton motioned for the club to pay for the tree. The tree would be a flowering dogwood with the color to be selected by the member and will be planted in the fall. Motion seconded by Phil Havens. Motioned passed by a unanimous agreement of the members present.
Lunch for the days demonstration can be brought in if there is an interest.
Dave Pellicer lets the club know that he has some casters available, free of charge, for members who are interested in making mobile equipment stands. Members are to see him during breaks or at lunch.
Jerry Johnson reminds the club members present for the demonstration that they can pay the demonstration fee during the lunch break. Denise Brooks introduces the guest turner and lets the present membership know that there still exist openings for the eccentric turning class and for the Batty classes.
The guest turner, Jean-Francois Escoulen, is formally introduced and reintroduces himself with some of his history and tools he uses and then begins the demonstration.
